Today (September 10th,) marks World Suicide Prevention Day. But this should not be something we remember only once a year. The reality is that thoughts of suicide, despair, or deep loneliness can be present any day—and so should our awareness, compassion, and willingness to reach out.
This year’s theme reminds us that every life matters, and every conversation counts. Sometimes, the smallest gesture—listening without judgment, checking in on a friend, or offering a kind word—can make the biggest difference.
If you are struggling with overwhelming thoughts or feelings of despair, please know this: you are not alone. Reaching out for help is not a sign of weakness, but a step towards healing. Some people care deeply and want to walk beside you through the pain.
As a Gestalt psychotherapist here in Malta, I work with people who feel lost, overwhelmed, or disconnected. In therapy, we focus on presence, awareness, and connection—tools that can help you find solid ground when everything feels unstable. My role is to sit with you in those difficult moments, without judgment, and help you rediscover the possibility of hope and change.
If you need immediate help:
📞 In Malta, call 179 (national support line).
📞 If you’re outside Malta, you can find international crisis lines at findahelpline.com
💬 If you’re looking for ongoing support, I invite you to reach out to me through my website: www.psychotherapistmalta.com
Together, we can take the first steps toward healing and connection.
🕊️ On this World Suicide Prevention Day (and every other day), let’s remind each other that no one should face their struggles in silence. Support is here, and you are not alone.
